MICHAEL J. O'BRIEN
Michael J. O’Brien graduated from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with a B.S.F.S. in 2006, and Temple University Law School with a J.D. in 2009. Admitted to the Bar in 2009, Atty. O’Brien serves as General Counsel to the Office of Economic and Community Development for the City of Scranton and sits on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Division of the Lackawanna County Bar Association. Atty. O’Brien has extensive experience representing corporations, small businesses, municipalities and individuals throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania on various matters before the Court of Common Pleas, Commonwealth Court, Superior Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Atty. O’Brien teaches Business Law at Marywood University.
Atty. O’Brien concentrates his practice primarily in business and civil litigation, oil and gas litigation, municipal law, military and veterans law and criminal defense. In addition to his civilian practice, Atty. O’Brien serves as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
